Our Ministries

POV Students

It is our goal to provide a welcoming space for students to gather in community, be guided in sound doctrine, and grow in their faith. Our deepest desire is for every student to know, love, and become lifelong followers of Jesus.

Promise Kids

Our children are the next generation of the church. We believe that it’s so important for them to not only have fun at church, but that they also get to learn in a creative and relevant way. Our passion is to see these precious little ones raised up to love and serve Jesus!

Promise Toddlers

Our toddler ministry strives to help build a strong foundation of faith that will support a lifelong journey of growth in Jesus Christ. It provides support for parents by allowing them to fully participate in adult services while their children are nurtured in a safe, faith-filled environment.

Men’s Ministry

As men who must work and deal with the world on a daily basis, taking time to fellowship with other men is a priority. It's too easy to become distracted by the things that pull us away from the Lord and isolates us from each other, so we offer times of fellowship where we can build one another up in the Word and in prayer.

Women’s Ministry

We are a community of women who come together to grow in our faith, build authentic relationships, and make a positive impact in our church and beyond. Whether you're a young adult, a mom, a working professional, or in any stage of life, we all need to be encouraged in our walks, and we want you to know that there's a place for you here. So come join us and experience the joy of Jesus as we grow closer to Him together.

Declaration of Faith

The Church of God believes the whole Bible to be completely and equally inspired and that it is the written Word of God. The Church of God has adopted the following Declaration of Faith as its standard and official expression of its doctrine.

  • The Bible

We believe in the verbal inspiration of the Bible. The Holy Bible, and only the Bible, is the authoritative Word of God. It alone is the final authority in determining all doctrinal truths. In its original writing, it is inspired, infallible and inerrant (2 Timothy 3:16; 2 Peter 1:20-21; Proverbs 30:5; Romans 16:25-26).

  • The Trinity

We believe in one God eternally existing in three persons; namely the Father, Son, and Holy Spirit. These three are coequal and co-eternal (1 John 5:7; Genesis 1:26; Matthew 3:16-17, 28:19; Luke 1:35; Isaiah 9:6; Hebrews 3:7-11).

  • Jesus

We believe that Jesus Christ is the only begotten son of the Father, conceived of the Holy Spirit, and born of the Virgin Mary. Jesus was crucified, buried, and raised from the dead and He ascended to heaven and is today at the right hand of the Father as Intercessor (John 1:1,14, 20:28; I Timothy 3:16; Isaiah 9:6; Philippians 2:5-6; 1 Timothy 2:5).

  • Repentance

We believe that all have sinned and come short of the glory of God and that repentance is commanded of God for all and necessary for forgiveness of sins (Mark 1:15; Luke 13:3; Acts 3:19).

  • Salvation

We believe that we are saved by grace through faith in Jesus Christ; His death, burial, and resurrection. Salvation is a gift from God, not a result of our good works or of any human efforts and that justification, regeneration, and the new birth are brought about through faith in the blood of Jesus Christ (Romans 5:1; Titus 3:7).

  • Sanctification

We believe in sanctification subsequent to the new birth, through faith in the blood of Christ; through the Word, and by the Holy Spirit (Romans 5:2; 1 Corinthians 1:30; 1 Thessalonians 4:3; Hebrews 13:12).

We believe holiness to be God’s standard of living for his people (Luke 1:75; 1 Thessalonians 4:7; Hebrews 12:14).

  • Baptism

We believe in the baptism in the Holy Spirit subsequent to a clean heart (Matthew 3:11; Luke 24:49-53; Acts 1:4-8).

We believe in speaking with other tongues as the Spirit gives utterance and that it is the initial evidence of the baptism in the Holy Spirit (John 15:26; Acts 2:4; 10:44-46; 19:1-7).

  • Gifts of the Holy Spirit

The Holy Spirit is manifested through a variety of spiritual gifts to build and sanctify the church, demonstrate the validity of the resurrection, and confirm the power of the Gospel. The Bible lists of these gifts are not necessarily exhaustive, and the gifts may occur in various combinations. All believers are commanded to earnestly desire the manifestation of the gifts in their lives. These gifts always operate in harmony with the Scriptures and should never be used in violation of Biblical parameters (Hebrews 2:4; Romans 1:11, 12 :4-8; Ephesians 4:16; 1 Timothy 4:14; 2 Timothy 1:6-7; 1 Corinthians 12:1-31, 14:1-40; 1 Peter 4:10).

  • Sacraments

    WATER BAPTISM

We believe in water baptism by immersion, and all who repent should be baptized in the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Spirit (Matthew 28:19; Mark 1:9-10; John 3:22-23; Acts 8: 36-38).

    THE LORD’S SUPPER

A unique time of communion in the presence of God when the elements of bread and grape juice (the Body and Blood of the Lord Jesus Christ) are taken in remembrance of Jesus' sacrifice on the Cross (Luke 22:17-20; 1 Corinthians 11:23-26).

  • Healing of the Sick

We believe divine healing is provided for all in the atonement (Psalm 103:3; Isaiah 53:4-5; Matthew 8:17; James 5:14-16; 1 Peter 2:24).

  • Resurrection

We believe Jesus Christ was physically resurrected from the dead in a glorified body three days after His death on the cross. In addition, we believe in the bodily resurrection (John 10:28; Romans 6:22; 1 John 5:11-13); eternal life for the righteous (Matthew 25:46; Luke 18:30; John 10:28; Romans 6:22; 1 John 5:11-13), and eternal punishment for the wicked (Matthew 25:41-46; Mark 3:29; 2 Thessalonians 1:8-9; Revelation 20:10-15; 21:8).

  • Second Coming

We believe in the second coming of Jesus. First to resurrect the righteous dead and to catch away the living saints to Him in the air (1 Corinthians 15:52; 1 Thessalonians 4:15-17; 2 Thessalonians 2:1). Second, to reign on the earth a thousand years (Zechariah 14:4; 1 Thessalonians 4:14; 2 Thessalonians 1:7-10; Jude 14, 15; Revelation 5:10; 19:11-21; 20:4-6).
